Eclectic Chic...Pencil Post Legs!

I had this great little table for over a year now in my garage buried by other pieces waiting for their turn to be transformed.  It is a fabulous Antique Drop Leaf Dining Table with Drawer on One End.  Drop leaf Dining Tables are not rare - with a drawer maybe a little more rare but what made this table such an eye catcher was her legs!  She has the prettiest and unique pencil post style legs!

She started out with me pretty rough with the top totally unattached from the base and a crack down the center.  I had her top secured to the base and then I used some wood putty to fill in the crack.  Now this table was one that my sister borrowed to "stage" her house to sell as her existing table was too large for the space and this one made the room feel larger.  When she returned it to me it ended up in the front hall right behind the front door.  It sat there for a couple of days with the door banging into it by five children, my husband and myself.  I finally decided I have to paint this piece and sell it before it or more front door was damaged!  Well in hindsight I realize now I should have used wood glue and clamped the top to secure it better.  I must admit though the crack does not bother me - I believe it adds character and shows what this table has endured over it's lifetime.

I sanded the wood putty down and primed and painted the piece with a coat of off white paint.  I lightly distressed the table in all the right places.  The table distressed so nicely.  The legs - they looked even better painted and then distressed to highlight their features!

Look at these Legs!!

She then received a coat of wax and made her way to Heritage Square Antique Mall where she did not even last 24 hours!  She is a beauty and somehow was lucky to notice that right away!  The table was purchased with another of my favorite pieces in my booth and I think they will complement one another nicely!

I have a lot of painting to do this week and look forward to sharing my projects with you!

Eclectic Chic...Oh So Versatile Industrial Chic Cart!

I went into Heritage Square Antique Mall yesterday and worked on all three booths - G021, C096 and J08.  But C096 is the one that received most of the attention!

I brought in a fabulous Vintage Industrial Cart.  This thing is Heavy Duty!!  Original Paint with Superb Patina!  You could not fake this patina if you tried!!

Large Caster Wheels, 2 Shelves and this piece weighs a ton!  This cart will last forever!!

I have the cart set up at the mall as a Kitchen Island - how fantastic would that be!  It is set up with Vintage Kitchen Ware including a Rare 1958 Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer in Copper!!  I just marked this item down from $150 to $100 in hopes it will sell before I bring it home to replace my boring modern white KitchenAid stand mixer!!  The mixer comes with the paddle, the mixing bowl and it does work.  As a bonus the plug has been updated!

C096 definitely is living up to it's name - Eclectic Chic!  Currently it is featuring the Vintage Industrial Chic Cart, a Steelmaster Lateral File with Wood Laminate Top that would make a great statement piece, and a few other pieces perfect for the Vintage, Modern and Industrial Chic Design!  Look at the Vintage Grocery Store Shelf/Display Rack!  What a great piece for a kitchen, pantry, or mudroom!  And it even folds flat!

There are Two Antique 1800s Solid Wood Chests.  One has a Secretary in the top drawer!!  They are breath taking!!  They would work well in a living room, dining room, family room and bedroom.  Very versatile with a classic style that fits well with many design styles!

While at the mall I marked some more items in C096 with Red Sale Tags. I plan on restyling the booth and would love these items to move quickly so the prices cannot be beat!  You will be amazed! Red Sale Tags can be found on small to large items.  Decorative pieces, some display items, furniture, toys, vintage, antique, modern, glass and more!!  And artwork galore!!  Please stop by soon for best selection!

Our booths include G021, C096 and J08.

Antique, Vintage, Shabby & More!!

I am hoping to dive into many furniture restyles this week and will share them with you soon!  It is a rainy morning today so I will not be pulling any furniture out to paint.

In the meantime I will continue to share some booth updates.

Booth J08 at Heritage Square Antique Mall:

I just took a fabulous new piece in booth J08.  It is a Vintage Low Boy that was purchased from Gimbels in New York.  The original paperwork is still with the piece!  It is solid wood - cherry I believe.  It has fantastic Queen Anne Feet, great details on the upper portion of the legs, beautiful original hardware and a lovely shell carving front and center.  A quality built piece - finished all around so the piece can float and dovetailed drawers.

The Vintage Beveled Mirror that is hanging in J08 would be perfect hanging above this highboy!  I plan on doing just that when I make it out to the mall.  This mirror was purchased from an estate here in Bexley.  The original price on it was $700 plus!  It is ornately carved with red cherries and a red bow on top!  Perfect for the holidays or any day!  It is definitely a Wow Factor!

See how nice they look paired together?  Wouldn't that be grand in an entry way or living room?

You can also find two fabulous Vintage End or Side Tables.  Both painted off white, lightly distressed and waxed.  The one with the lower drawer was originally purchased from Howard Brooks.  Does anyone recall this wonderful interior designer?  He was one of the best interior decorators in Columbus.

Both are priced to sell quickly in the $40 range!  Wow!

You will also find an Antique Victorian Sofa Table or Entry Console with wood top that was freshly painted a fab blue!  This would look wonderful behind a sofa, in an entryway or on a screened porch.  It screams Beach Cottage Chic!!

If you like Wicker then this darling table is perfect for you!  Priced in the $30 range!  What a steal on this piece that has so much character!

I also have some fun side tables including a pair of Vintage Nesting Tables that are Solid Mahogany!  And if you like something quirky then there is a darling multi colored petite table as well.

For those of you that like a true shabby piece then the Antique Victorian Era Table below is for you!  This paint is not new...it has a fabulous old chippy paint patina.  This piece is also priced to sell in the $30 range!  I picture it in many rooms as well.  In the living room as a side table, next to the bed with a lamp, clock and reading books on the bottom shelf or it would look perfect on a screened porch with the weathered look it has!

Speaking of Screened Porches - this Antique Ice Cream Parlor Table and Chair have an old coat of fabulous blue chippy paint.  The table has been coated in a few coats of clear poly to seal it.  This piece I just love.  LOVE, love, love the color!!  This would be great on a porch, in a breakfast room, or end table or night stand.

One last piece for your porch - this darling vintage white metal Flower Cart.  Perfect for flowers or plants and even better as a display piece as can be seen here!

My last items I would like to share are for any Foodies out there or kids at heart - a Vintage Double Candy Machine and a Fantastic and Rare Copper KitchenAid Stand Mixer dating to the Mid 1900s!  This color is a rare one!  It works and comes with the Bowl and the Mixing Blade!  Get it before it comes home with me to replace my boring white KA Stand Mixer!

Please stop by and take a look at all three of our booths - G021, C096 and J08.  You are sure to find a one of a kind piece, a fabulous deal and something you have been looking for!  It is a fabulous Shopping Experience at Heritage Square!

Back from Vacation & Have Booth Updates....

Hello! I have not posted on my blog for awhile as my husband was on vacation. With 5 children 13 years and younger and a husband home I just could not find the time to restyle many pieces or write a post! No wonder huh?
Well I thought things would be back to normal today but alas one of my 13 year olds is home ill! I miss writing my blogs so I decided to update everyone on my booths to get back into the swing of things!
I have three booths at Heritage Square Antique Mall - G021, C096 and J08. All have been doing so well and so many items have been selling quickly! Thank you to all my fabulous customers! I have been managing to keep them well stocked despite my time constraints as of recent and all three booths are fully stocked.

I will start with G021 as this booth has the most dramatic change.

I went in and restyled the booth to give it a new, interesting look.  I hung Waverly Toile Drapes in each corner to give it a homey look - they look fantastic.  They are still available to purchase despite how nice they make the booth look!  They were custom made, in excellent condition, lined and they have the nice thick insulation in the middle that will help keep a room toasty warm in the winter!  My living room drapes have this feature and it is fantastic!   They were also professionally dry cleaned.

You can also see the drapes behind the STUNNING Vintage Crystal Chandelier that we just took in yesterday.  It was original to a house here in Bexley, Ohio and dates to the Early 1900s!
WOW!

I have many new pieces of furniture and art and accent pieces.  Right now G021 lives up to the name Eclectic Chic as it does have an Eclectic Mix of items available.  There are the restyled Vintage and Antique pieces that I have painted, lightly distressed and waxed.  These include a Victorian Coffee Table in blue, a Vintage Quilt Rack and an Antique Hand Crafted Chest with Birds on the drawers.  All three of these are on sale at this time!

The new pieces that made their debut this weekend include a Stunning Antique Break Down Armoire from ca. mid 1800s.  It comes completely apart for easy moving!  They should still make armoires like this today!!  It is a beautiful piece in solid wood with mirrored doors.  The Wood Grain is to die for!  Look at the column in the center - wow!!  Fabulous details and carvings and a Double Bow Front Drawer at the base.

We also took in a Unique Piece - this I bought for my own house but could not find a place for it!  Hurry and take a look at it before I do figure out where to put this little beauty!  It dates to the late 1800s and is quite unique with a hinged top with a step down compartment inside that is painted blue.  There is also an off center drawer and a door at the bottom that opens to a spacious cabinet area.  The wood grain on this piece is stunning as well!

You will also find a Vintage Dresser with Floral Etched Mirror.  Fabulous Design and Original Lion Hardware.  Excellent condition and priced to sell fast!

Another new piece is a Late 1800s Eastlake Chest with Spoon Carved Floral Design.  Solid Oak, drawers all have locks and the original Hardware is intact!  She is a beauty!  I thought she was sold before I even took her off the cart.  I had not priced her yet and the customer was on their way out the door though.  I have a feeling they will be back as she is a looker!

One of my favorites is an Antique Chest dating to the early to mid 1800s with Hand Cut Dovetails on the drawers!  These dovetails are super tiny and that is the way I love them!!!  That shows the age on this petite piece!  Original finish and hardware.  Perfect size for an entry way, living room, hallway or bedroom.  This can even be used as a bedside table!

G021 has a fabulous assortment of Antique and Vintage pieces!  Please stop by and take a look.  As always I will be glad to consider offers on items priced $80 or more.
Stop by C096 and J08 as well.  I will update you on those two booths soon!
