Original Shabby Chic...The Real Deal....

I love this table!  I really do!  I wish I had room for this beauty in my house!!  Unfortunately I do not.

She is in As Found Condition.  I did not do a thing to her at all!
She was purchased from an estate of an Antique Dealer along with many other fabulous pieces.

Look at the amazing details on this piece!  The top is painted in what looks like an Oriental theme.
The design is partially worn and totally perfect!

The trim around the edge is worn and there is a spot almost centered on this table where the wood grain can be seen peaking through.  The best part of all this is the it is real!!  Real wear to this piece from years of use.  This table has the look that everyone wants and everyone works so hard to achieve!

Look at the detail on the stretcher!  Hand painted design and the shape add to the overall look of this table!  The fretwork on either side is also painted and adds even more charm!

The drawer is to die for!!  Even with the broken knob!!  I would not replace this knob for anything!  Not only does it add such charm and character but is is also Bakelite!  Wow!

She would make a fabulous Sofa Table, the perfect Telephone Stand as can be seen below with a Fabulous Authentic Vintage Phone with Chrome Accents or in an Entryway!  She would make a grand statement wherever she would land in your house!

To find a piece that has real distress and wear is just a bonus for this lovely piece!

The Table, Telephone and Lamp are all currently showcased in Booth G021 at Heritage Square Antique Mall in Reynoldsburg, Ohio
1865 Brice Rd

I have two other booths as well and many other fabulous pieces available - C096 and J08

Stop by and take a look!

Antique Victorian Table Turned Shabby Chic...

I am not a fan of Victorian Furniture at all.  I have none in my own house and I rarely buy any Victorian pieces.  To me they are over the top and too ornate!  Just too busy.  But when I saw this Petite Antique Victorian Table I had to buy it!  I think it is the size and the fact that you can use it as a coffee table....unique for a Victorian piece.

Here she is as found:

She was in fabulous condition with the exception of one flaw on the top near the side.  Something had eaten away at the finish and left a bad spot on the top.

The worn spot was a bit rough so I sanded it a bit prior to painting and before taking the Before Photo.  I hope to remember some day soon to take the before photos before doing anything to a piece!

The Table has Nice Legs with great carved details.

I decided to use a Blue Paint on this piece to make it an Eclectic Piece.  Victorian Meets Shabby Chic!  And the color choice was Perfect!

I lightly distressed the top and the base. The legs turned out fabulous!
I applied a coat of Clear Paste Wax to protect and seal the piece.

I wish all pieces would distress as nicely and easy as this piece did!  The distressing accented the spoon carved designs on the legs and helped this table show just enough age and wear.

Her legs are stunning!

The top has just the right amount of distressing.

This fabulous Restyled Table is being showcased in Booth G021 at Heritage Square Antique Mall.

She has only been there one day and I have a feeling this table will not last long!  Pieces I paint in this shade of blue seem to sell quickly!

The table is very versatile as it would make a fantastic coffee table as seen here or it would also work as a side or end table as well.

The Rug is also for sale and this table picks up the blues in the rug and looks fabulous.  It is a hand woven rug from the Middle East.  It was purchased at Menendian Rugs in Grandview.

Please stop by G021 to see this beauty and C096 and J08 for other fabulous finds!

Pair of Vintage Bamboo Tables....

I recently picked up a Fabulous Vintage White Wicker Sofa and lucked out to also find this Pair of Vintage Bamboo Side Tables with Glass Tops.

I have combined my Before Photo and Photo of One Table Primed:

The tables are somewhat simple, especially the legs.  But then you notice the top with the interwoven design - wow!  The simple lines of the legs paired with the woven design on the top is such an eclectic mix and works perfectly!

I primed the tables first and then painted them with a top coat of Off White paint. I then gave them a coat of Clear Paste Wax.

They are showcased with the White Wicker Love Seat in Booth G021 at Heritage Square Antique Mall.

They look fabulous on either end of the wicker piece with a lamp and small accent pieces.  Each has a piece of tempered glass on the top.

They would look fabulous on a porch or in a living room or family room.  They would also make a lovely pair of night stands!

The wicker love seat has only been in the mall for about a week but I already put a red sale tag on it!  I have so many projects waiting for a space at the mall so I am making deals!!  The Wicker Piece is priced in the $50 range!  Wow!  It is in excellent condition and includes the cushion and the two throw pillows!!

Antique Beauty.....

This is a True Antique Beauty!  Solid Wood with Layers and Layers of Old Paint!  Locks on every drawer which are complete!  Many times the workings inside the drawers have been removed but this is not the case with this Chest!

Drawers are Dovetailed Front and Back showing great craftsmanship and quality on this piece!

FABULOUS Vintage Glass Knobs...not original to the piece but they definitely have been on the chest for many, many years!

The photo below is much better....look at the details on these knobs!  Wow!  As mentioned above the glass knobs are not the original hardware as under the top layer or two of paint I found another hole to the side of each glass knob indicating this piece had handles versus knobs at one time.  I am in love with the glass knobs so they must stay!  They really make this piece!

And the layers of Natural Chipping Painting!!  You cannot fake this!   Original Wood Casters too!

With all the original Chippy paint I could not bring myself to paint this piece! But I did sand the top layer off of her as the paint had cracked and had an alligator skin look to it.  See the close up below to see how the paint looked prior to sanding.

I knew something below was bound to look much better!  And thankfully I was correct!  I used an orbital hand sander to remove just the top layer of paint.  Here she is with the top layer of paint sanded off  the drawers and top.  That was a long task but well worth it!

The sides did not look as good sanded so I grabbed a can of Sherwin Williams Antique White and crossed my fingers!  I put a light layer on the sides and thankfully it matched perfectly!!  It must truly be an antique white....lol!

She is a true beauty with a light makeover!

Curved Front China Cabinet

As soon as I saw this Curved Front China Cabinet I knew it was in desperate need of a restyle!  A fresh coat of paint and some distressing was just what she needed!

Before:

Ignore the white on the top - I forgot to take the Before photo before putting the primer on the top.  I really need to remember that now that I am writing blogs!

I primed the inside and outside of the china cabinet.  I then painted it with an off white paint.  I did not remove the glass in fear that the curved panels might break - we have 5 children here 13 and under and the glass was safer inside the cabinet!

I lightly distressed the piece to add some character.

She looks super pretty with Vintage Smalls Displayed inside!

The pull is a key that locks the door.

Please visit Booth G021 for a variety of Shabby and Cottage Chic Pieces.  I also have many other pieces in booth C096 and J08.  The booths are at Heritage Square Antique Mall in Reynoldsburg, Ohio at 1865 Brice Rd.

Thanks!
